OK folks, I just bought my first sho(pulled it out the Junk yard to be exact) its a 1991 MTX beautiful car no damage, the problem is it misses a out badly till around 4000 rpm, I have never worked on one yet, just wondering if you guys could give me a good idea where to start, the car has about 180,000 miles on it, it does run and drive just runs better at a higher rpm, sounds like a valve issue to me but **** i dunno. :bonk:

Pull the spark plug wire boots off the spark plugs and check for oil. You may need some maintenance. You can also run the codes easily for free, check my sig for the link.

Check for codes first. Then do the maint. Full 60k/120k That is the best place to start.

That oil will be back and if it hasn't already it will ruin the plug wires, You will need to replace the valve cover and plug well seals.

while you got the Valve covers off get a feeler gage set & check the cam lobe to shim gap. If you need the right tools & some shims-rent or buy- call me
