I got a set to try. They seem a little loose on the spring and appear to result in about a 3/4" drop. Is there supposed to be an insulator that's not included?

What the heck are those for? Don't look like Taurus/ SHO mounts, front or rear.

I didn't think the insulation came off...

Worst case, if you have short tube struts in the rear, it all comes apart pretty easy if you're using new pinch bolts and anti-seize.

They're only showing one left in stock. I have no idea why the rear of my car sits so jacked up with Intrax springs, and other than changing the car itself, the only thing I have left to change is the mounts. These are the first mounts I've seen that were obviously shorter than what I have. I think I'm going to end up cutting the springs.

The factory Gen 1 mounts had a separate spring isolator pad that simply slipped on the mount. I think the whole mess was molded to the metal cup by the time Gen 2 came about.

So what is the part number for the correct rear strut mount if I were to get it from o'rielly's or something? Because I'm about to change mine out and need to know if I get the right ones. Do they suppose to come with insulators?

I went to o'rielly to see if they were the same. I would like to know if this is the part number: FM1043.

It's been established that there is a separate spring insulator that goes on this part. Thanks, Gary.

This part is specific to gen1 tauruses. Your old spring insulator is supposed to be re-used but is available for purchase separately. If you already have this style, you might as well stick with it unless your insulators are coming apart. If you have to buy the stamping AND the insulator, you might as well buy the integrated unit.

I went ahead and installed the quick-strut spring and sensa-track on this mount WITHOUT the insulator because the old mount was so trashed, I didn't care.

The car rides great and there's no clunking, squeeks, or rattles. While I wouldn't consider the insulator "optional", the mount seems just fine without it on my car and produced about a 5/8" drop.

You can't see the part number on the box?

142103

...i see now. So to clear this up for anybody that reads this later as a reference. What does the rear mounts come with, like, does it suppose to come like the picture in the first post or as one whole piece with the rubber insulator? I'm not too clear on where to go to get it and what type because a few people had their inputs. Thanks!

It can come either way. Most people buy them as one whole piece.

If in doubt, buy from SHOSource or another reputable SHO vendor, or go to rockauto.com and choose from the parts available there.

Autozone

Autozone is going to give you wrong parts on a regular basis unless you know
what you are looking for. I was given wrong control arms, strut mounts, stud length
on hubs....and more im sure.
