Just wondering. I know this transmission behind a 3.4 has longevity problems. How does it handle a DOHC 4.6 in the Continental? Any differences? This (in my opinion) feeds the fire that a FWD 4.6 motor can be shoe-horned into a SHO.

Thanks,
Brad

hmm...I've never thought of that. The only thing I can think of is that it may have "upgraded" parts which form the 4F50N.

There are only minor differences inside the actual transmission itself. Examples are your forward clutch drum is steal instead of molded, there are different sprags, tooth and gear count are different on certian parts. The clutches are the same though. One big difference is the torque converter has a different stall speed. This information is according to Aceomatic Recon's 00-01 Transmission components book. I would be glad to fax you the copies.
