DAMN CE light again, thought i fixed it, help inside!

Well maybe some of you know that i had a rich running condition and gettling like 13mpg, well one of the plug wires wasnt snapped in all the way and i snapped it in and it "felt" like the car was back to her old self and i took a couple people for a ride and they thought it was much better. So its been warm out the past 2 weeks, well first cold night im coming home from work and boom! the friggin CE light comes on again like it did in the winter, it seems only when its cold it gets set. Well i ran the codes and its 157(new code, but i got it before like a year ago) 173,177 and 542. So i have a pro M 77MAF. I JUST WENT THRU EMISSIONS REAL EASY!! so how can a car getting 13mpg and running rich pass emissions so easily? crap i seen people get like 20mpg and not pass emissions! Im getting fed up with this damn problem, I replaced tps, ECT, plugs and wires are in good shape, I think the maf is fine. Any more ideas guys? the o2s are confirming im running rich since im getting 13mpg so its not them! im just frustrated, but wonder why it happens only in the cold during the warmup cycle like a couple mins after im driving

Try going back to the original MAF. The 157 is a MAF code. A screwed up MAF will cause mixture problems.

I believe I have read that there have been problems with the MAF harness/connector as well. Try digging into that.

That you passed emissions test means only that your car met whatever thresholds were being tested, whatever they happen to be for your particular locality.

ive switched before, no change. I dont have the driveability problems of a bad maf, i wiggled the harness or hit it, and the engine didnt stutter or anything, so it seems fine. Also i hear the Pro Ms throw that code occasionally.
