Hey all,

I'm in need of some of your knowledge.

2015 PP SHO, 53,000 miles.

I developed a noise that I recognized as a bad wheel bearing (rumble/vibration that got louder with increased speed). While driving at 60'ish MPH and I turned the wheel ever so slightly to the left it would go away and when I turned to the right it would get ever so slightly worse. BOOM! It's a wheel bearing and I know how to fix this!

I spent $200 and ordered a wheel bearing from Rock Auto. I replaced the passenger wheel bearing and took the car for a drive and same exact symptoms. No change. I was like "Crap, it must be the passenger side." I then took the wheel bearing that I removed from the driver side and replaced the passenger side and took the car for a drive and the same exact symptoms!

I did some research on the net and it sounds like I have a bad INNER CV Half Shaft. I believe inner because I don't have the symptoms of an outer. According to the net the symptoms of a bad outer is a clicking noise when the wheel is turned all the way and you drive slowly in a circle. I don't have that. What I do have is:

- Rumble/vibration starting at 30'ish and up MPH. Very noticeable at 75-80 MPH
- Goes away when wheel is turned ever so slightly to the left and gets a little worse when turned right
- Vibration seems to get worse under acceleration and becomes less when letting off the throttle

Thoughts?

I had something very similar. I swore it was the wheel bearing and replaced one side - still no difference! When I went to replace the passenger side, I noticed that the brake pads were completely worn down. Might be worth checking out.

That's very interesting Hebes10. When I was working on the passenger side and when I removed the caliper the inner pad broke in half and separated from the steal piece. I loosely put it back into place until I could order new pads and rotors from Rock Auto, which I now have. I wonder if that's my issue. I'll update this thread this weekend after I replace the pads and rotors.
