What does the PCM need to see for the cruise to work? The VSS obviously (which is the ABS system) Since the swap in my Gen 4, it doesnt work. I'm determined to make it work.

It's a 98 Drivetrain with an MTX-IV, in an 02 body.

Thoughts?

Does the Gen 4 use a VSS or the abs pulse signal - they are different.

The pcm has a bunch of things that will fault the cruise off - it may be one of those because you have changed the drivetrain - final drive ratio must be set to what you really have in the car, the transmission command stuff must be fully turned off so its not trying to command a gear and not trying to read what gear its in. Stuff like that to check....

From what I see wiring diagram wise, it uses the ABS, and BPP switch (brake pedal position) It doesnt use any transmission info as far as I can tell.

You need a 98 / 99 Cruise module...

Been there done that.

The 96 / 97 cars use the TSS off of the ATX. You and I don't have one of those anymore :)

I have a 98 CCM. Are you running 2 brake switches? I have yet to look at my pedal assy, but I'm assuming mine only has the BOO on it right now.

Single BOO switch here I never got around to wiring up a switch on the clutch pedal - never needed it. When you hit the on button on the wheel does the "cruise" light turn on? The change to ABS input may not have happened right on a specific model year. However I suspect the logic change may have happened at the same time as the speed input change. I actually have heard that if the Cruise sees a ground or a +12 on the cruise disable pin that it will bail. So all you need to do is rig up a switch on the clutch pedal that puts a ground on the module, as I believe the BOO is hot to the module, but would need to look at the EVTM to be certain.

Unfortunatly I didnt get to talk to you at Tony's. But the scenerio is I bought Kirk's Gen 4, which the cruise worked then. Now after the MTX swap, its a no go, no cruise light or anything. Maybe Chris can chime in and tell me whats goin on. As of right now, to be honest, I havent even looked at it.

Hmm since it was a SLO originally it may not be wired in the harness to use the ABS as the speed input... Let me look at what wires go into my 99's cruise module, you would need those wires as a minimum..

Does your car have the SHO specific ABS module? That is probably another question we should figure out first.
