I’m looking at a 19 sho with 91k miles and in all honesty I’m not too familiar with problem areas they may have or if there’s more specific parts than others that should be checked before purchasing
I’ve heard about water pump and transfer case issues but I’m finding half the internet says they’re dead reliable and the other half thinks they’re goners by 100k just looking for a hopefully informed opinion

It's always a "love or hate" relationship, I fell in love with mine despite the poor maintenance history the car has. I'd never buy a VW for example there's no chemistry between us but on the other hand I love Audis no matter how big problems they have with 2.0T and oil consumption or timing chains excessive labor on V8s, so, there's definitely some areas you will have to take care of and once you're okay with that I'd say go for it

That's pretty high mileage for a 2019. My water pump and timing chain had to be replaced at about 97k miles, but I have a 2013.

Was that an issue that was resolved/refined in the later years or is it about the same I have the ability to do pretty much any maintenance myself so it wouldn’t be too expensive for me to do timing and whatnot but I’d rather not get in something that I’ll being doing it soon after purchasing is there a way to easily check how much life is left in the pump

It's pretty consistent across all model years as far as I know, but you will find some owners with 150K+ miles who have never had any problems. I'd like to say maintenance and how you drive are key, and that's probably true, but I changed the oil religiously every 5k miles and don't beat on it.

Do you have access to the maintenance history/records on the car you are looking at?

There's a weeping hole and it ends up on the LHS near the AC compressor, so if that part of the block gets wet - it's going bad. I can't say if they can go bad mostly like instantly bad and cause the damage mixing coolant with oil but this is at least an indication that something is going on. Checking your oil and coolant on regular basis and look for any discoloration and stuff like that.

You are getting close to the point where turbos and water pump start to fail. The pump is not an easy DIY and the timing chain is replaced since you are already there. Don't let this stop you, they could last another 90k miles but who knows, just keep in mind that you might need to replace those in the next couple of years. Wheel bearing hubs are also in that category.
Additional fluid changes are recommended for this vehicle, transmission and most importantly, the PTU. So, make sure you find out what type of maintenance has been done to it.

Yes I think the real key is proper and consistent fluid changes. The best suggestion I got on this forum is PLEASE change the PTU, RDU and transmission fluid regularly!

I am very happy how clean the PTU fluid is staying after I have changed it about 3 times so far. Now when I change it the fluid coming out is a nice honey color instead of that black sludge/slime that came out before from the factory fluid!

Any service records?
The good thing is with those miles it was driven a lot on the highway which is always better on a car than super low mileage and little to no use.

I bought my 2011 with 102K miles in 2015. Every SHO I could find for six months previous at that time was at least $20K, I got it for $15K. Drove it til 169K miles and never had a single issue with it. I don't pay attention to what the SHO's are going for now, but if it is 3-5K less than a 2019 SHO with 40-50K I'd buy it.

I've always looked for cars that avg 20-25K miles a year from when they were new. Always had really good luck with cars not having tons of problems that other people seem to run into too. At some point it can't be luck any more.
