I was wondering what kind of compartments you guys are using below your aftermarket cdplayers. I bought a coin/cup holder from a regular taurus but if i push it the whole way back so its flush with everything it pushes my antenna cord out of its hole. So right now its sticking out an inch or so. Is there anything that someone sells or ford makes that can look good and serve a purpose below the aftermarket headunit? Thanks

Also, what kind of output does the factory sub offer? Is it worth getting one for 50 bucks or more or just going and getting an aftermarket?

I just left my stock sho cd player beneath it in. haha. So nothing =/

The stock sub offers...sub par output at best and doesn't sound that great. BUT I understand that I listen to a lot of subs, and to the casual listener it may sound alright. When I first got my sho though my friends just thought I had nice 6x8's, not a sub. I would recommend getting a 10 and running ~300 watts to it. You'll probably be more than happy.
I ran 350 to 1 12", and was more than happy for a year. Then I wanted more...1300 dollars later, I have a real substage (along with a new alt and new wiring)

I have used both the coin/cup holder and the little compartment with the door on it. The cup holder sucks; cans fall out of it and if I have a cup in there I can't change CDs, and if it's on the left, it turns my stereo on and off by hitting the volume ****.

As for subs, you have to be the millionth person to ask this question. Please do some searching on the topic. There are decent methods for all applications. I recommend a separate sub/amp combo personally, others have made clever adaptations for the factory setup. Whatever you choose, I promise you it's in the forum somewhere.

I have both the coin holder (in my 90), and the compartment with door thing (in my 93). I don't like either of them. The coin holder part is dumb, the SHO's already have the coin holder. I think I'd like the compartment better if there wasn't a door. I may just have to make it that way.

As for the subs, it kinda depends what you want to hear. If you like a lot of bass, the factory box isn't the greatest. If you just want a little supplimental bass, maybe. Anymore, trunk enclosures and subs a pretty cheap and very easy to install and wire. My whole system, HU, door speakers, rears, enclosure, subs, amp, and wiring was about $350, all new. If it was just the subs amp an wiring, ~$225.

I took my old cd player that didn't work anyway, the stock one, gutted it out, shortened the case, painted it black and reinstalled it so its now a storage compartment.

I am using a compartment that someone here in Ont SHO club sold me. Works great for storing small items, also works great for the tweecer wires and switches. You can see where I made a port with the USB cable mounted.

I've seen the stock SHO coin holders. My 95 doesn't have one stock. I have never seen the storage compartment in any junkyards so thats new to me, thanks. As for everyone asking about the sub. It was an afterthought to me so i thought i'd add it, but the forums don't have EVERYTHING. Other wise you wouldnt ever get any new posts. Thanks though, i wont buy a stock sub. :thankyou:
