Hi all, I picked up the car from the body shop this morning and noticed a squealing noise from the MTX area. Half a block down the street on a 1 to 2 shift the clutch didn't disengage. I pulled the shifter to neutral and the car wont go into gear while running (ie: clutch not disengaging).

Is the TOB toast? Can I replace just the TOB or will it have ruined the PP etc... Clutch engagement was smooth with no slipping before this. I think it is a Centerforce, but not sure.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like you broke a strap, I had it happen before. Did it have a hard time going into gear at times before this happened? As in did you have to give it a good shove to go in?

It used to have a little trouble going into 1st, but smooth on the rest.

Thanks for the advice Matt. Can you recommend any good installers down here? I don't have a garage for this right now.

TOB, strap, or whatever else, it sounds like you need a new clutch (TOB, PP, Disk, flywheel resurface).

I would recomend me!!! I can do it, it would take at least a day.

If not there is place down here that did install a clutch over by my parents and they did a good job, just cost a good about. There is a place by me and did a good job and did honor their warrenty with a lot of trouble but they did. They were much cheaper though.

Did you happen to check the fluid level in the tranny?

I did not check the fluid level. Could that cause such a problem?
