93 ATX converted to MTX, but using all electrics from ATX.

I do not know the original strategy used when the clutch pedal safety switch is introduced into a car that never had it.

I am trying to trouble-shoot a problem with this clutch pedal switch; sometimes it works and other times it does not. And when it starts to work again, it is not because anything was done to make it happen. Just the passage of time. This makes the car unreliable, and I think twice about using it where I will be shutting it off.

I know there is a rod with a clamp on the pedal safety switch that closes the switch when the pedal is depressed, but I can not see it. I will be removing the front seat so that I can position myself to get a look at it, maybe that clamp is less than an inch from the end.
I can not see the electrical connector, so I am thinking it is on the top.

The best original strategy I can come up with is, pin #30 on the ECM for the MTX is the Clutch Pedal Position Switch. Pin #30 on the ATX ECM is the Manual Lever Position Sensor. I am thinking that in both cases, this circuit allows the small signal to the starter solenoid to happen (with the key in Start), which allows the battery to power the starter motor. But that is not helping me much in trouble-shooting.

If anyone can recall how this was done, back when this sort of thing happened more often, I need your advice. My trouble-shooting ability is shallow, and this long running issue is getting me down. Even a guess would be appreciated.

Thanks

in this write up, it looks like they brought over the clutch pedal and did a is a write up about the MLPS/neutral safety switch. Not sure if your car is set up like this, but you can take a look. Is your car using the 3.2 computer? Looks like Shosource has the switches on their website

To zoomIater, thanks for the info and yes the car uses the 3.2 computer and all the
atx wiring.

I took the front seat out and got a look at the "starter / clutch interlock switch. I was able to disconnect the wiring and I used a jumper to by-pass the switch. The car now rolls over every time.

I noticed the adjustable clamp on the rod of the switch (which contacts the switch body when the pedal is pressed) is at the end, instead of about 1" from the end. Has anyone moved that adjustable clamp. Where it is located now, I can not see a way of adjusting the clamp.

There must be a secret way of moving this clamp on the rod.
