I noticed when I push in the clutch pedal that it makes a groan/squeak noise like it needs to be lubed or something. The car drives fine and engages ok to the best of my knowledge. The pedal just feels gritty if I push it down and let it up slowly. I tried to do the self adjustment thing but the pedal really wouldn't come up any. Do I need to spray something down there? Is it where that little spring is connected to the cable? The clutch begins to engage after letting up about 1/4 of the way if that helps any. I did a search and didn't find quite what I was looking for.

There is no spring on the clutch cable itself. Do a search using "clutch pawl", as well as "clutch quadrant" as I remember a post under one of those two search terms that included pictures of the assembly and parts.
