If you're recieving a clicking noise, the ignition wire to starter solenoid is feeding the starter with power.

I would double check that the wires are placed correctly and that you have a fully charged battery.

Even though you said you got new cables, for anyone else that reads this thread-
I had a SLO that only SOMETIMES didn't start. A new battery and lots of $$ later it turned out to be the negative cable from battery to starter was corroded inside. So sometimes the amount of juice necessary (which is A LOT) for the starter wasn't getting through. Cables are cheap.

Sounds like you're on the right track but I'd re-check everything. I think if the DIS is not grounded right it does funky things, too..

Good luck!

Man today I replaced the starter with a remanufactured one it turns out the starter was getting power and it was kicking allright and a bunch of stuff was infact wrong with it... whether it was the wires solenoid or the starter or all of it but it stilll wouldnt go, I tried the fly wheel again and it wouldnt spin...... it ceased. I added 2 quarts of oil in there and put it in 5th and rocked it back in forth for a while, I took my bros optima battery and put it in there. It wants to start, its just begging to start its trying to turn but its stuck.... tommorow what im gonna do is drain the oil and flush it with another quart of oil and then Im going to put in new oil and HOPEFULLY it will **** it enough to want to turn but if not then I will have to take it to a shop unless anybody has any better solutions?? Its not the end of the world now, just 3 hours ago I was almost positive I was going to have to tarp my sho and declare it a project car.

I'm pretty new to the SHO motor but anyone ever check for starter alignment problems? I know these bolt straight in but it doesn't take a lot to bind a starter against the flywheel. Just a thought.
