cincy is ******* me off

i ordered an alternator over a month ago. we went back and forth through emails for a week, about 8 emails each. this was to figure out how big the shaft was so i would know if my under drive pulley would fit it. i still didn't get an answer on the size so i told them to just ship it and i would deal with the pulley later. they told me they shipped it out the 2nd of november, no tracking number, they just shipped it. its now the 21st and i have nothing but a car that sits dead and ready to run, but no alternator.

I had a **** of a time getting my hood from them. They said it would take 2 weeks and it took over 6. They said it was because it was coming from Michigan, even though the shipping box said it was from a little **** town by Cincy. I don't think I'll deal with them anymore.

i don't know whats going on with them, i have dealt with them on a few other occasions over the past two years and always gotten great results. i think their hood is going to be the only other thing i ever order from them.

well, they neglected to email me back, but the site now says that it was returned to them and they reshipped it. it usually takes 5 weeks to get an alternator right?

They cost 425 if ya pick it up yourself. It costs 550 to have it delivered. Then of course you have to have it prepped before being painted. Cincy will tell you its ready for paint, not quite. The bodyshop told me that it was pretty good quality, better than the stang hoods they see, but still needed some prep. Depending on the bodyshop it will run somewhere between 700-1000.

i finally got the alternator today, he sent me the black powder coated casing seperate, i had to take apart the alternator, and put it back together with the new casing. the new casing's screw holes were threaded different from the othet ones so i have to re tap the holes and i had to sand down parts of the powder coated casing because the shaft and coil didn't fit properly. oh, i have to ship him back the old stock casing too. no wonder why its half the price of a ford factory one, cincy ufcks you twice as bad in the end.

this part is partially my fault BUT, its the wrong ufckin alternator. i just went to bolt it in and its for a 3.0. its about 2" too deep and completely wrong bolt holes. they probaby won;t take it back because i chipped an edge of the powder coating and there is a crack in the casing from when i forced the black casing on.

well, just to bring this up to date and i am in a good mood and happy right now so, cincy is taking the alternator back. they are sending me a UPS shipping sticker and everything. so they are now making it off my shit list, hopefully this will be over soon and i will actually have a car again, that will feel weird. well, i just wanted to make sure that everyone got the good with the bad. they fumbled at first, but they picked the ball back up and hopefully they get some good yardage.

update:: they are days away from redeeming themselves. they are having UPS pick up the alternator at my house, send it back to them and they are sending me the correct one but stock. they didn't have any 150 amp atx in stock, so they are sending me a stock ford one at cost, then when they get the 150amp back in stock they will just swap that one for me. so, i am very happy with how this turned out in the end and they are now on my list of vendors who i like again.

Yea I've had the same problem with those guys as well. Ordered the 60 k video november 1st. Was hoping I would do the maintenance on thanksgiving. Several emails were sent to them saying hey, where's my stuff? They just said, we shipped it, you should have received it. Well, if you shipped it, where is the tracking number? Finally received it until the beginning of december after I told them that I was going to reverse the charge if I didnt get my stuff in 5 days. They fed exed it to me the next day.

Not the best of experiences, but the fact that they did jump in line when I laid out the skinny made me feel a bit better. 60k will have to wait though till spring as my holidays and vacations are all gone.

had a little trouble with them when i ordered custom floormats... ordered in July... charged my credit card in July... only received them after numerous emails and even one threat to contact the better business bureau... cincy sho claims it was a problem with the manufacturer being behind in shipping.... i believe cincysho on this one, as they were very prompt in returning my emails. with cincysho in general, just be prepared to wait a bit to get your order... they never rip you off however... you always get what you order, just sometimes later rather than sooner. peace.

I know what you mean on the floor mats. My ma ordered em in Mid October and was told immediatly that the rear ones werent in stock. We received everything last week, just in time for Christmas!
