My CE light flashes on and off rapidly when i press the throttle. It does this when i accelerate and in low gears. It also flashes when I am in high gear coasting and i press the throttle down hard. The flashes are fast and have no pattern or anything. The lights very dim, med dim, fully lit up, etc. This is not suppose to happen right? I checked the codes, nothing. i had some problems in the past with the ABS and wires burning up, so i pulled fuse to ABS, no more ABS. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but i thought i would mention it. Also I know i have a bad 02 sensor and i going to replace them along with plugs and wires. I also have a bad starter as well, and will be replaced in a couple of days. What could be causing this? electrical problem? I have posted something about this before but thought i would do it again with more detail to see if i could come up with better results. Somebody said it could be the o2's but i dont know. Please help me! Thanks!

That doesn't sound like normal behavior of the CE light. Have you tried to run the KOEO test to retrieve the codes? See the link in my signature for instructions to do this with just a jumper wire and the ignition key.

I'm thinking a short somewhere, or the computer is junk. Also, I know that on some vehicles, a flashing CE light is indicative of an overheating catalytic converter. That is doubtful in this case however, as I believe that is only the case on OBDII systems.

The dim CEL is a symptom of either a power or ground problem to the PCM.

Try checking the single black ground wire that comes off the battery, connects to the body at the shock tower, then continues to the PCM. This wire with its connectors has been known to cause similar problems.

Since the problem is most frequent under hard acceleration, check for worn/broken motor and subframe mounts. Sounds like the engine is moving too much.

This is correct....flashing CEL would indicate a serious catalyst problem which would necessitate shutting the car off before something bad happens....

I forgot to mention a key fact about the problem I am having. When I brake torq the throttle it in drive (not too hard, like 2-3K), the check engine light comes on. When I take my foot off the throttle the CE light goes off. BUT, When I do the exact same thing in reverse, the CE light does not come on at all!!!!! What the **** is going on? I am just trying to give you all the facts so I can hopefully narrow it down as to what it could be. Maybe it is one of the motor mounts, because the engine moves different ways from drive to R right? Maybe something with the tranny? Or Maybe I am totaly off! Any suggestions would help. THANKS.

I know that on my OBD2 with the 96 and 98, if I ever have a flashing CE light. It is a sign of a missfire. Does the car feel like it has a miss or shake to it when you brake torque, or when put under a load...?
