Car running fine and then wouldn't start next day. No fuel. I have no power to the fuel pump cut off switch in trunk and got a replacement CCRM with relay and still no power. Fuses in box by firewall are all fine.

Grounded feed at firewall and pump ran for a few seconds.

What else could be the problem? It's a 95 ATX.

Thanks!

if you grounded the pump and it started to run then id guess there is an issue with the ground wire at some point in the system.

Whoa!

The pump should be running continuously whenever the FP pin of the VIP test connector is grounded and the ignition switch is in RUN. Clarify if this is the case or if it's only running momentarily.

Many times, perfectly good components are replaced due to sloppy or ineffective (or absent) troubleshooting processes. What made you determine that the original CCRM was defective?

The PCM grounds the relay in the CCRM, which is the same as grounding at the data link. But the PCM will only ground it for a few seconds unless it sees the engine start.

If you had the key on and the data link connector pin for the fuel pump grounded and it did not run continuously then you either lost the ground, lost the 12V+ or the pump is too weak to pump continuously.

If the pump stops running and you have the data link connector grounded then look for 12V at the inertia switch. If there is 12V+ there then it is either the fuel pump or the wiring from the pump to the inertia switch.

Did you replace the CCRM with the correct one? There are differences through out the years. What is the big letter on the top?

The fuel pump circuit is very similar in all versions.

See the stickied IRCM/CCRM in the electronics forum for my descriptions.

No power to inertia switch before or after repalcement ccrm put in. Yes, it is the correct J code as the original.

Thanks for your help. I'll keep looking for a bad ground. The car ran fine and had good power the day before it wouldn't start so I don't think it's a bad fuel pump problem?

If the relay in the CCRM did not get the ground signal from the PCM that is the ground you are looking for.
