Avoid doing so.

If you do, a significant amount will go past the valves, into the cylinders, and past the rings into your oil.

In addition to washing your cylinder walls clean of oil and diluting your oil in the crankcase, you'll have a big surprise if and when you get the engine started.

Matt - extreme case, you can hydrolock the cylinder.

If you're going to spray into the lower runner, best thing is to turn the engine by hand until the valves for that cylinder are closed, spray lightly & use a toothbrush to clean, then shop-vac the remains out. The little bit that's left should combust easily enough. Be aware that the car will be hard to start / keep running depending on the amount of cleaner you're trying to burn off.

i guess ill just spray some on a towel and clean her out the best i can
That's what I did and it seemed to work real well. Most of my valves (with the exception of one) were real clean. It's amazing the amount of shat I cleaned out of them.

Edit: removed post
That is what I do. I spray the cleaner on a red shop towel and use my rubber gloved fingers and wooden chopsticks (very strong) to reach all of the different areas in the ports. I highly recommend that you do not spray cleaner down the head ports for all of the reasons posted above.
