Well, I have the same problem. I think mine's the rear mount, but if yours didn't do it before then . . . a little trickier. As per the self adjuster (your "blue gear" I assume) just drive it around - a lot of stop signs and such. I don't suspect it is the cause of the bucking.

A few other things: Make sure the cable is threaded through the hole in the tranny and is unobstructed going to the firewall.

If you find the source - and your mounts aren't broken, please post. I'd do the mounts on mine, but there's snow now. If it's something else - that'd be awesome.

Good luck.

as far as i know the cable is self adjusting, just lift up on the pedal and it should adjust it.

Thinking the mounts are good is nothing like knowing they're good...Trust me. My mounts are so bad that the motor moves enough to put tension on the cable, causing the block to drop for a split second while the clutch is disengaged, but then jumps again when it comes back down - causing the bucking. Put your parking brake on and put her in reverse. If it moves more than you think it should, the mount has failed (when in reverse, the side of the engine closer to you will lift).

Also, is the cable the only think you replaced?

The cable length adjusts itself. That quarter procket ontop of the clutch pedal ratchets itself. However, if that piece is a little worn, and the clutch cable has any play, it could be it. So make sure all the ridges and still pronounced, nothing worn. If it looks shabby, the OEM part is $35. Easy enough to insall also. Best of luck.

Is the cable the only thing you changed?

Does the car move at all when in reverse/bucking?

Does it feel/look like the car is bucking up and down or front and back?

Get a Chilton's and make sure the self adjusting assy. is put back together right.
