I have a set of used PPE downpipes. They were given to me for doing a favor for someone. The problem is the cats are no longer working. Not melted or clogged just efficiency level below threshold. My question is has anyone cut the cats out and welded new cats in a set of downpipes? It may just be that it's not cost effective especially since I'm not a welder and will have to take it to a shop. I also do not know what cats I should price or if it's even available as a part.

PPE should be able to get you the part numbers, give 'em a call. Also ask what your options are. Do you know why they may have stopped working?

Don't know why they stopped working. Used 3 years and started throwing codes. I'll call PPE and see if they will provide manufacturer and part# for the cats.
