I used Prime Lok 275 Red (like LocTite)

So do you think heating up the head of the bolt will allow me to get it out?
I'm gonna have to take the cam to a machine shop now. I priced camshafts I found $166 at fordpartsonline.com, so I'm trying to save that as a last option.

Help....Please!
Thanks, Mike

I don't think you should have used red locktite on them. :bonk:
You maybe able to get the whole sprocket off and then there might just might be enough to grip on with your handy vice grips. Or you get a left hand drill if you can find it and some good quality easy outs you may get lucky. Worst case is you have to replace that cam they should be quite easy to get a ATX intake cam used.

General rule of thumb, anything which you should be able to remove at a later date you don't use red loctite on, only blue. The things we learn the hard way. :)

Hope things work out for you. Like Marcel said, getting a replacement camshaft shouldn't be too difficult if it comes to that.

Once you remove the sprocket, you'll be able to determine the best course of action. If there is enough sticking out of the cam, you might be able to grip it with a good pair of vise grips.

Or you could weld a nut onto the nub.

If not, you could grind or file the nub flush with the surface, then center punch it and drill it out for an easy-out, or use a left handed drill bit and the counter clockwise motion will remove the screw.

Good luck.
