My brother (21yrs old) is considering buying a 1998 Silver SHO. It's got 73,000 miles and all the standard options that came on a 98, leather, 6 disc and so forth. I went with him to the dealer to look at it and listen for any cam failures that I could pick up on. I've heard the audio samples from V8SHO.com (i think that's were they are from) and I didn't hear anything.
They are asking $7950.00 for it. It retails at $13,500 according to KBB.com and the trade in value of it is around $8500.00 so the dealer is selling it for less that what KBB.com says a dealer would give you for it!! Tohey told him they would give him $2000.00 for his 92 Ford Ranger. It's paid off too!! This really sucks if you ask me...So in the end he could end up getting a 98 SHO for $5950.00 and having payments of around $190.00 a month!!!!
I know I sound jealous, but oh-well. My real question is, is there anything else that I should look for. I checked for rust in the trunk, cam noises, bending with the frame and so forth.
Anything else?
Thanks for the help.
