Brake project - SHO/Super Coupe

Almost forgot to take these pics. This is my 12" brake on the car.

Forgot to take shots of Super Coupe prior to start but this shows the bad condition of bushings on the Tension Strut rod. Had to replace spindles from 1991 to 1993 to accommodate the brake package.

Old caliper.



New Cobra caliper mounted. Off to the tire shop for an alignment where the right front upper control arm ball joint and lower tie rod were determined to be failing so had those replaced prior to alignment.

All in all a good project. Caused new tools to be bought and I found out my mechanic will let me borrow his tools if need be. Great guy. Both cars brake like demons now.

nice supercoupe. just a question you may know, can you use the 4.2l block in a supercoupe. that might be a easy boost in power.

Yes you can put the 4.2 in the SC. But we aren't doing that just yet. There are a few other more inportant issues to fix first, like A/C so we can use it on hot days. Black with black is a bad combo. Suspension would be next.

Here's a pic of our two beasts. Bull is mine since I ordered him in early 1995.
Raven (the SC) is a relatively recent addition to the fleet which has become our project car.
