does the shosop & fps kit have a provision for blocking boost from the brake booster? just seems like boost pressure might have a negitive effect on the vacum powered assories. any input? thanks! Corey

The brake booster (actually the connector between it and the vac hose) already has a one way check valve on it to prevent that.

so your saying no changes are made on the shoshop/fps cars as far as vacum assories are concerned?

I made a pressure switch that activates and closes the valve for the charcoal cannister under boost.
Other than that, just cap off the 2 PCV passages, one on top of the intake, and one under the TB, so boost won't go into your crankcase! :)

So how do you releave crankcase pressure? I filter breather cap for the oil filler hole? If so, what about the other bank?

You opened up a can of worms there!!! :)

SHOShop, and many people simply T these lines together with a breather filter. This works, but does not ventilate the crankcase the way the PCV system is supposed to work. Also putting a vacuum to the crankcase is said to increase HP.
I have a vacuum line from my intake that sucks from the crankcase, and goes through a catchcan to catch the oil.
Im probably going to use an electric air pump to get a vacuum, so I can eliminate oil/vapors from the intake altogether.
I've discussed this at length with Josh from SHONUT, and I don't think that there is any proper answer.

thanks for the insight!! very helpful!! i also am leary about connecting the crankcase breather(s) to intake as the oil dramatically reduces intercooler eff. and requires frequent intercooler cleaning, that is if one is used. however the canister purge line should be alright to connect in the intake, i didn't think of that untill you mentioned it. I tried removing the valve cover to TB line and replaced it with a K&N breather. I also hooked up a breather to the under TB line. I don't think it did a very good job because it cause oil to leak from the front main seal. With the stock system in place, it was fine.

BTW is that your deep sump SHO pan in the link on your sig? That thing looks nice!

That modified deep-sump SHO pan is actually for the SHO Ranger truck we put together.

here another question along those same lines. can the PTFE sensor (egr pressure sensor) on an egr car handle large exhaust pressures? like on the order of 15PSI? Thanks, Corey
