In taking my crank spindle off, i bent the crank shutter thing for the sensor. Anyone know where i can get a new/used one. kind of scared to try to bend that one back and put it on. Thanks for any advice!

You can try to bend the vane(s) or shutters back into the proper shape and verify by measuring each vane's gap to the CPS. You are trying to get the same gap on each of the three vanes from the leading edge to teh trailing edge.

Remove the Woodruff key to allow the sprocket to be easily turned on the crankshaft. Might as well try to restore the sensor ring you have before trying to replace it. How did you bend it and how bad is it bent?

i bent it trying to pull the spindle off by hand. Only one of the 3 vanes? (pieces that the CKP picks up) is bent. It is not completely round, but flattened out a bit on the edge of the vane. Not much but noticeable. I would say there is a difference of a couple mm.

Just as Scott suggested. Feeler gauge between the CPS and vanes. As long as all three vanes are within spec after you tweak the vanes you will be good to go.

If your worried about it I have one that I will sell ya- but it's gonna cost ya.

As long as you can re-bend it so that it passes safely through the sensor without it making any contact, you should be okay.

Your other choice is to post in the "Want to Buy" forum and purchase one from someone parting out an engine.
