basketweaves...what to do?

I want to keep the car original
but the silver basketweaves just seem so dull and ugly
i have repainted but they stilll look ugly My 1989 is current red and I would appreciate any thought as to how to make them stand out without looking like a geek...

looking like a geek comes natural to me...
so ANY ideas appreciated

Black with silver lip is the best ive seen....nothing much to do with these

My personal favorite were some white ones I saw once, but on a red car? Eh, I don't know

Paint black, graphite or gunmetal? u can use duplicolor high performance wheel paint and clear coat. very good stuff! I painted mine graphite color.

repaint silver but if you have the time put red on the inside of every "weave" to make it snad out alittle. I think it would look good.

Heyy... I like my rims... but i think their gonna get repalced with black slicers hehe.
