Hey guys. Just got my new rear wheel bearings from RockAuto, and upon opening the boxes, I found what appears to be incomplete assembly of both bearings. It is entirely possible that these bearings require installation onto the knuckle to press everything together, and that is what I'm trying to determine here.
This is the worst-appearing bearing. I was able to lift the top half of the bearing right out of the assembly.

The second bearing wasn't much better, as the top half wouldn't just pull out, but has a decent amount of play in it. Neither of my old bearings have any play, or just pull apart like this. Granted, if bolting these up are a required part of pressing everything together, then everything is fine, but I have my doubts.

These bearings are Mevotech Supreme H512105, ordered from rockauto. Please advise.

This post made me realize that I've never had to replace a rear hub/bearing on any of the 70+ SHOs that I've owned in the past 20 years. I did bearings on one of my 89s once but 89s are cone bearings.

My thinking is it's a sealed press on bearing so it should not separate like that. I would think that they are defective. Do they look like they've been handled before? Possibly someone tried to install them once before and screwed something up so they returned them in that condition? I'd get replacements.

Appreciate the confirmation man. I've started the return process.
It's possible that someone messed with them before they were sent to me, as the individual bearing boxes were pretty thrashed, but the parts themselves looked pristine - other than not being pressed and sealed. No nicks or scrapes to indicate that someone attempted to install them.
Honestly I only went with Mevotech because I couldn't find any Timkens, but after this I'll probably just slap the old bearings back on and run them until Temkens become available again.
