Is there any way to access the trunk of a 91 SHO from the back seat? My trunk is stuck and unfortunately it is impossibe, w/o a blow torch, to open it to fix the latch. Help! Thx for your time.

Start by removing the back seat bottom. There are 2 tabs in the front of the seat that hold it down. Push the bottom toward the rear of the car and lift up, the seat should pop up and out. Next there are 2 brackets, one on each lower corner of the back seat, remove the bolts. lift up on the seat back and it should slid off of its hooks. Pop out the plastic retainers that hold the package tray in place that were behind the seat back and lift up the package tray. Unhook the jute padding and let it sit where the seat bottom was. Reach through the hole and push the cardboard liner into the trunk. You should now see the inside of the trunk. CAUTION: There are bunches of sharp screws sticking out in the package tray area, don't cut yourself!

Jelloslug,

Thx so much for explaining that. I will let you know how it turns out.

Schoob,

I'll weigh it when I take it out and get back to you.

The disassembly of the seat went smooth as silk. I can't thank you enough.

The bottom of the seat was about 12 lbs. and the vertical portsion about 23 lbs.
