So it got dropped off at the dealer again. Tried a different one this time out of the oilfield area so it'll be less busy. This time the tech got in the car with me for a ride and got to experience it first hand. Hopefully he'll figure it out and I won't be out of my car for long. It's spent more time at a dealer than with me since I bought the car.

Going on a month now and still haven't gotten the car back. I wish there was a way to tell someone high up how much I hate Ford and the crap they sell. I knew I shouldn't have bought one but I just couldn't resist a SHO. probably gonna be one of the biggest regrets I'll have for the many years to come. 2nd payment is almost and only driven the car 2 weeks. Rant off.

Call 1-800-392-3673. That is the phone number to Ford's customer relationship center. Let them know what' up. They will work with you and the dealership. That' the best I can do.

Are you over-thinking this whole issue? Mine does the same thing at this gas station I go to - when I back up from the parking space by the front door, there's a slight incline when backing up. I have to turn the car sharp left when backing up in order to get out of the parking lot onto the street. When I put it in drive the steering wheel is still turn all the way left and when the car starts to move I definitely notice a little grabbing like you mention and sometimes even feel like it catches. It's just the entire system from ESC, Traction Control, PTU, etc working - it's nothing! It's not a mechanical error or anything wrong! I've had mine since 2014, now has 36,000 miles, I drive "mildly aggressive," often and the car is perfect! Unless your car is having major issues or grabbing very ******* these turns, making noises, etc then yes something must be wrong! But if it's like what I described with mine, it's perfectly normal.

Naw it's an actual mechanical issue it only did it after driving for over 1hr and the tech did find metal shavings in the rear diff from when it binds. It didn't feel like any car should feel regardless no matter what or how you're turning.

So I finally got it back last night a month later, so far it feels good after a 3hour trip to work and turning full circles in pavement there's no binding. Hoping it stays good so I can start modding.

What was the final diagnosis?

A bad seal on the rear diff caused it to go dry and the differential ground it self up. I barely bought the car so I'm thinking it's been running dry for some time. It had 10k miles I never thought it would have such an issue. So they replaced the whole rear drive unit.

Surprisingly, have seen more instances of ptu/rdu failure early in their lives, on the 2013+.

The RDU on our 2014 Taurus drops **** out of the vent tube when the weather is cold. Dealer has replaced the vent assembly 3 times under warranty and it still does it. I think there is a TSB for that so it is something to keep an eye on.

Good to know I'll definitely keep an eye on it closely especially now that winter is coming.
