Alright boys & girls, it's autocross time. I didn't get the feeling that TOO terribly many of you were going to be autocrossing...as much as this pained my soul, I bore this and moved on.
We will be meeting in Arlington at 7:30am - 7:45am at the McDonalds on Green Oaks and 360. Just take the Green Oaks exit and take a right...there's McDonalds on the right. We'll be leaving there at 7:45am to go to Mineral Wells. Tech inspections are up until around 9am, then racing starts. $25 for 8 runs...very good price. Long track. Times are usually around 90-100+ seconds...sometime's shorter.
I hope you all will get a chance to go out and experience it even if you don't race. It is loads of fun, and you can ride with anyone you like. Sometimes people will even let you take their car for one of their runs. If you wait till the end of the day, there are free runs called "fun runs" that are not timed.
I might let someone that's considering racing out there take my car once around the track on a fun run or maybe a real one. Not sure just yet since I haven't had the car on the track yet.
It's actually lots of fun to ride with people...they drive the **** outta' their cars and it's just a lot of fun to be in the passenger seat hanging on for dear life. I encourage everyone to come out and watch if you're not gonna' race, and if anyone wants to race...please do so cause it's addictive.
I'll post more information if I get any guys. Email me or post to let me know if you are going to meet me at McDonalds. I won't wait any past 7:45am, cause we're gonna' be cutting it close at that point...it'll be about 40 minutes from that point. If there's a big group, we'll average 80-90mph there and get there a little early. We'll see...just depends. Hope you all get to come!! shoot
