Found the problem with my car. (Harsh 1-2 shifts on light throttle) Broken 1-2 accumulator spring from a Trans-Go shift kit. Anyone have a broken into kit? I don't want to buy a whole TransGo kit just for that spring, but I will if I have to.
Also, since the trans is out, now would be a perfect time to replace the rod bearings. I need a source for bearings.
It's only money, It's only money, It's only money.. (If I tell myself that enough times, maybe it will make this easier)
Thanks
Bill

You might try calling TransGo, you never know they might just send you a replacement for free. If not, the cheapest I've found the full TransGo kit is about $45.

For the bearings, try Josh at http://www.shonutperformance.com/. He sells the Clevite mains for $143.92 and the rods for $81.57. You can probably find them cheaper if you want to hunt around for them, but he usually has them in stock and ships pretty fast. (He also has the pan gaskets which you'll probably need too.)

Napa for the cleavite rod bearings. They are something like $45. I crossreferenced the part numbers with shonut, and they are the right ones.

As mentioned, Napa sells the Clevite rod bearings. The Clevite part number is CB1435P for each set, typically around $7. You'll want six sets.

Also, you'll need oil pan gaskets, oil pickup tube gasket, RTV to complete the oil pan seal, etc. Possibly some plastigauge to measure your bearing clearances (probably not).

Just make ABSOLUTELY SURE you inspect each bearing and it is the correct size. It will state if it's oversized, and that would be bad (in your case).

Be sure to check out http://www.kurtmetros.com/bearings.html

Thanks for all of the help on this. I bit the bullett and ordered a complete TransGo kit ($45.00, not as bad as I thought.) I am going over to the shop after work, tech should have the pan off the engine so we can look at the bearings. Rear main seal was replaced when we did the trans. the first time.
