I opened my glove box and I found that there is a yellow wire disconnected. The same one that is giving me the code 15. Here is my question. How do I get the glove box out so that I can plug the wire back into the computer? Also, do I need to disconnect the battery before I plug the wire back in? Thanks!

Are you sure that's where the wire goes? Just checking. The glove box just pivots down. Push the ends inward that have the round piece in the groove that acts as a stop. Did that make sense? The computer is right behind there and butts up to the firewall.

Always disconnect power when dealing with wiring. wink

Yes that makes sense. I found a little surprise on my computer. There is Hypertech Power Module on my computer with a red sticker that reads this.
ATTENTION! "Error Code 15"
This Hypertech Power Module will cause diagnostic equipment to falsely shown an "Error Code 15." Remove the power module from the ECU before performing diagnostic tests.
Also, there is a large yellow wire with a plastic grey clip that is disconnected and dangling. It looks as though there is only one bolt holding the bracket which holds the computer. If I remove this then I just have to pull the computer out right? Also, is it possible to just unplug the Hypertech and pull it out? Thanks for the help.

How the heck am I supposed to remove the bolt that holds the bracket for the computer. There is absolutely no space to get anything in there and I can seem to fit the pliers or vice grips right.

use either a 8mm or 9mm socket with a small extentsion with your 1/4" ratchet........

Update:It was actually a little 7mm wrench that I had to use to get it off. If I take the Hypertech chip out then what takes its place on the computer? Also, does anyone have any idea what the yellow wire in the glove box area does. It is a really thick yellow wire.

I just looked at mine.The only yellow i have is the rubber one that connects to the manifold for the ECC.It runs to a clear manifold with a blue and red hose running to it also.

Thanks for checking that out Jeremy but that is a different yellow wire. I just checked it out. The wire that I'm talking about is one that goes into a bundle of wires at the bottom of where the glove box would be and then travels down to the passender side, interior door trim. Also, I was reading the Hypertech instructions online and found out that I can just unplug the hypertech and cover the back of the computer up. I'm going to go try this out and see what happens.
Update:There are some connectors in the area behind the glove box that are not connected. I connected one and came up with a wierd change. Maybe it is just me but it seems as though the shifting is more precise. I don't understand that, and also my slight lopey idle has gone away. I have tested the car with the Hypertech chip and without. I have concluded that the Hypertech gives me more of a boost from ~4000RPM than the stock setting but it hurts my lower end performance more than the stock setting. I am going to leave the chip out for now. I ran my codes over again after I took out the chip and the KOEO and KOER tests came up with nothing but 11's.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Did you unhook the neg. battery cable and reset the computer settings? If you want to pull the computer out any time there is a connector on the engine side of the firewall with a plastic knobbed bolt that holds it tight to the pcm. You can't remove the pcm without unhooking the wiring harness.

Thanks. I got everything taken care of and I think the culprit was the Hypertech chip. I'm pretty sure I need a fuel pump as well because it is hissing loudly. Now that I've gotten that taken care of my next step is replacing the brake booster.
