I just recently replaced my right front bearing/knuckle assembly about three weeks ago.

Yesterday, for the first time since, I really got on it and ran the can up over 100MPH. Straight line acceleration felt fine, but when turning at all the car felt like it was a snake. I could really feel the body swaying from the front to back, like a wave.

Did I break a swaybar when working on removing the hub from the strut? It was a PITA to remove and there was alot of hammering and heat involved. The entire assembly was twisted almost completely around when trying to get the pinch bolt off. Did I damage the white plastic piece (endlink? no idea) that is connected to the assembly?

There is something wrong, anyone else have the same experience?

half-way there, I think.
It's pretty tuff to break a swaybar. I would double check the end links. BTW - swaybars only effect body roll (side to side)

Front to back (waves as you described it) sounds more like worn out struts to me.

Well, the waves are from side to side, body roll. Its not an up and down movement, definately side to side, like the way a snake moves. when i am at 60.. if i move the wheel from right to left and back again to create roll, its pretty intense, i can really feel the car just move around. Not like the car was real real solid before, there was always a little roll, but now its enough for me to eek! about.

The money pit is hungry again.. what is it she wants to eat?

Ive snapped my plastic OEM ones a while ago. I upgraded to the MOOG greasable endlinks. Solid steel for ~ 20-25/each

You can get MOOG front endlinks through rock auto and I believe Napa. You could also go with the Windstar Aluminum endlinks w/Josh @ SHO NUT.

To remove a swaybar endlink from the strut brace should be no more then pull up and push out at the same time. If you don't push up, you will never get it out because it hangs on there.

Just a thought. Been through the tough and rusty MacPhearson setup before...

Not to steal anyone's fire here, but what about a smaller swaybar in front? Would putting a regular Taursaurus sway bar in front reduce plowing? What about if it was matched with a larger than stock swaybar in the rear? Would the car be more nimble or would it handle like a slick front-wheel-drive turd with a sack of bricks in the trunk? Would it be dangerous because it may put the back end out?

Will it handle better or worse? WHat about matched with the strut-tower braces?

You need to check all front end steering components. Including subframe bushings, lowerball joints, control arm bushings, & bad motor mounts will throw weight around up there. Unequal struts suck. I doubt the frt. antiswaybar has much to do with it. Have you considered the rear suspension being a problem?

toms car is a late model, the sway bars are strong enough.

Tom, you should prolly look into a 26mm rear bar with the MOOG greasable endlinks. You will be happy you did!
