No, this post really doesn't belong here, but I'm getting no response from my thread in the WTB section so here goes anyway.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to loan me the tools to set the differential pre-load. I really don't fancy paying 190+ for these unless I was planning on doing quaife installs for more than just myself. I just cannot justify the cost in my mind.

Anyway, the tool part numbers are:
T81P4451B2 & T83P4451AH2 and comes with the flat bar and 4 longer transaxle bolts.

If anyone is willing to loan them out, I'd be more than glad to pay for freight both ways and a reasonable rental charge. You would be assured of their quick return as well...I don't think I could hide from everybody here if I didn't. :)

This is the almost the last thing I need to do to my trans before I button her up again. Everything else is waiting patiently.

Thanks in advance guys.

I'll shoot him an email for when he returns from the convention. He's already done so much for me I really hated to ask another favor from him. But it looks like it may come down to that.

So Biz,

Does this mean you are now in the tool rental business? :D

Seriously, consider a posting of special tools folks have and are willing to rent them out. The deposit could be the full value of the tool, in case someone forgets to return it!

I have some, you now have some, etc. Food for thought.

By the way how did you do at Norwalk? Is that Norwalk as in Norwalk, Ohio ie the dragstrip? rangerj

I have a lot of "special" things in store for you guys in the coming days. I've been quite productive in my days of unemployment. :) Not only did I finally finish my quaife, but I have a few html pages that will be of most help once they're finished. thumb

Yes, that was Norwalk as in the drag strip in Ohio. It was super hot and with super humidy there and I was not pleased with my car's performance at all. I got massive wheel spin even though the track was sprayed (I still have evidence of this in my wheel wells, it was all down the side of my car) and I just couldn't hook up for crap. Besides all that there just seems like something was not right with the car, I think she was still feeling sick from the radiator job I did the previous evening after it grew a crack in the plastic section of the radiator. I honestly don't know, but my best time was a 15.5 IIRC. I knew there was more in her.....I just couldn't unleash it for some reason. Might have also had a little to do with the fact that it was only my second time at a track as well. My r/t was more decent this time around for the most part (some runs I must have been daydreaming), but my 60ft times sucked. You know the old saying...practice makes perfect. wink

Now that the nitrous has been completed she is much faster. I wish it had been installed at Norwalk because I'm sure even with me having a bad day I would have been in the low to mid 14's. That's how much difference I notice.

12 more days.....mmmmmm.......12 more days. :D

Beth,

Think Shirley Sheehan, (Dragon Lady), Shirley Muldowney, and the Eldlebrock sisters (2)! They are all still racing and kicking but. (I have not heard of anything about Shirley Sheehan for some time. Anybody out there know what she is doing now?)

You are right, it is in the reaction time. Practice, practice, practice.

As for the radiator leak, didn't you just replace that radiator? The bolt that holds the fan schroud, if overtightened, can crack the driver side of the radiator tank. Is that where your tank is cracked?

You go girl! rangerj

I replaced it the night before I left for Norwalk, and it's still running/cooling just fine. wink Haven't had a single problem with the radiator since, so there are no current leaks. With all the coolant that spewed into the engine bay from it, I thought maybe she might be feeling a little sick. It was a week before I quit smelling the coolant after that. Since then I've replaced the upper coolant hose (they didn't have one before I left) as it sprouted a tiny pin hole in it. I think when the throttle cable bracket on the TB was modified to hold the micro switch for the nitrous that maybe a piece flipped off the grinder and punctured the hose. It was just a tiny little stream squirting out and on top of the hose. It was due for replacement anyway. wink

I absolutely adore these cars, and since I've been learning that "hey...I can do this!" it's been a lot more fun as well. It's kind of like the Bionic Man theme...better, stronger and faster. That's the name of the game I'm playing. :)
