Was thinking about a little project that i made awhile back....

what about a set of C/F side markers.... but not side markers... a ram air kit, for the driver side, and a non functional one for the pass. side...

it seems that it could be made for cheap, and i had noticed some gains on the highway as it is drawing in very cool air, and basiclly raming it in to the fender area....

just an idea.....

Sounds nifty, but there are no proven gains of power with a ram air induction... in a body style form...

Turbo and Super Charging... not thats something else!

well the only advice to GII showners, is take off you side markers, and run on the highway with it off....
that would be the only real way to test it for yourself... because you are right, there is no real way to dyno like that, without having some type of measured compressed air system that sprays into the airbox, and is metered by hpw fast your going.... as in, if your doing 90mph, a computer measures how fast your going, and then forces air into the fender accordinaly. but you would have to know the force of air that is at, at any given speed... if i had a guess, would be 14.7 (atomospheric pressure)x speed, and maybe the CFM the motor pulls over the intire rpm range.... which this whole thing would be usless, becasue the compter would have to make continious metering changes, to give a certain metered air flow..... and this is all on the dyno, to try to figure out how much hp you gained.... hence why i said, "take off your side marker".... that would be my best thought, on how to get an actual dyno'ed hp number gain..... :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

too bad yall GIII guys cant do that... well atleast to my knowledge....

I think its a great idea except for use them for brake ducts. Since the stock air box already draws cool air i dont see the purpose in a ram air.

I think it could be made to function for both. The right one being just the air duct, the left one doing both??? Creative thinking Saleen. :thumb:

well then, alex or tim could make a universal set... either use it for ram air on the drivers side, and on the pass. side, .... help cool the battery down????? :laugh_ti: sounds funny, but hey it could help....
then for the brake cooing... it would probably be the same exact design, just you would have to run hoses down to the brakes...

i guess the design would have to look like a (this is the best way i can describe it) oval or rectangular exhaust tip... as if it was mounted with the inlet (were exhaust gas comes in from :bonk: ) was facing towards the air box....
that way if you wanted to run them for brakes, all you would have to do would be to hook up a hose, and run it.... and if you wanted a ram air setup, just leave it the way it is... or even run some hose to the air box.... allthough, i wouldnt recommend that, if it rains often.
anyways... if the price was right, i would be in for a set..... maybe we could get a G/B intrest going on these things? that is if tim or alex would be able to make them....
:salute:
