OK, I may be a day late and a dollar short on this one, but I haven't heard discussion about it yet:

I have read volumes about people and their HID dreams, their Silver Stars, etc., but when it comes to signal lighting, all I have read about is colored bulbs. Now, here's my feelings: I love the look of a couple nice blue (or even "cool blue") glowing signal lights up front, but me and mine have known our share of incidents with the cops regarding this sort of lighting.

Now, I think that even the look of a blue bulb makes a nice difference in the signal lenses in front of the GenIII. Well, answer to my prayers- I was looking at the Sylvania Automotive Performance Lighting Website and found this . What a dream come true- these Silver Star Signal Bulbs are visibly blue when unlit (when seen in the signal lens) but give off a completely legal amber light when your lights are in use.

Now I know that orange is orange, but for me, the car looking good during the day (which is most of the time that I am out and about) is most important to me and to be able to have a light that's not gonna get you pulled over (cause Lord knows most of us don't need any "extra" reasons to get pulled over!)
Anyway, I thought I'd share. Maybe I'll post a picture when they arrive.

I ordered a set a few days ago. :D Should get here in a few days. I also ordered a 100W wiring harness. That should get here in a few days, as well. Now I need to put some Silverstars and put that harness to use so that I can actually see at night! rant

I've just briefly heard about this 100W harness and seeing as I plan to upgrade to Silver Stars within the week, I'd like to know where/how to get one. Could someone gimme the 411?

The harness or the SS's? I got my harness from http://suvlights.com The Silverstars can be found at the Sylvania website or at your local car parts store.
I am trying to figure out whether or not I want to get headlights that put out 80/100w, or whether just to go with the SS's. Any opinions/suggestions?

Sounds like a cool idea....

I'd probably do the same thing if mine weren't blacked out.

I wonder if they make those small enough for the clear side markers on my Focus though...

now, stupid question regarding lamps & wiring harness'

Can I safely run 85/100 watt bulbs with a stock harness if I don't run them @ 100 watts? or will I burn out the harness running 85w?

I’m using high wattage GE lights on my stock harness, no problems. But I am not sure of the wattage on the bulbs, they are just labeled "Legal for street use" They are GE 9007SB/BP2 12V HB5 bulbs if any one knows the wattage. Regardless of watts, they are blinding!

All you really need are two good 40A relays and some wire. the 100w jobs are just a lot fancier but still under $50.00. One relay is for the high beams, the other for the low beams.

The 100w wire harness will;; make a bigger difference than the SS. I have PIAA super brights (or whatever). Them and the harness makes for some bright legal lights. If the bulbs are marked legal for street use they are not 85/100w.

I had some 85/100 w bulbs once. They did not draw 100w when on the brights (88w). They also burnt up one of my headlight connectors.

Just do a google search for 100w headlight harness.
I have thew PIAA front turn signal bulbs. Blue when off and super white when on. Legal in Illinois. I have also gone to the 98-99 style lens. This, along with clear front side markers that have been converter to cornering lights, they also come on when the backup lamps are on. Off under normal lighting situations, again legal in Illinois.
