The other day I noticed that my driver side fog light bracket was broken, I have been considering buying new fogs for a while now I am forced to do so...I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions(considering the lack of brightness of the headlights).

The stock lights are junk. Fog lights dont send light very far, and dont work that well in fog anyway, and how often does it fog and you use them? You DRIVE, so get driving lights. The best made, best looking, lowest amp draw (35 watts) while giving the very brightest light (four times as bright as the best halogen), longest lasting, with sharp upper cut off to prevent blinding oncoming traffic are the rectangular genuine HID lights from JC Whitney Co. Fit the SHO perfectly. Remote control so no hacking into firewall. Also can use remote to find SHO in parking lots. Amazing lights!! Not much more than those inferior type fog lights, about $599.00, but save replacing bulbs, worth it for the light quality. can see for almost a mile on a rural road.

I own a '93' MTX and a '95' ATX green and white respectively. I prefer the stock look and I came across these stock looking Hella replacements which bolt into your existing brackets for $38.50 each through SP Motorsports. Check the link http://www.spmotorsports.com/taurus_fog_lights.html

I have PIAA 1900X driving lights. They are chrome outers with a hyper white light. They are VERY nice and look sweet. The only thing is that they are more of an oval shape. They fit in the stock housing, but there are minor gaps. I like the look and LOVE the light.

I'm also looking at replacing the fog lights with driving lights. My questions are:

1. Which of the PIAA lamps/lights are brighter, the clear lenses or the Ion crystal lens. I would be using this in the fog and more likely ... rain here in the Pacific Northwest.

2. Do they fit exactly? and what kind of wattage do the stock bulbs draw in comparision too these?

3. Do these lights (any of the aftermarket lights) use the same electrical connector the stock lamps use or do you have to do some splicing?

Thanks!

I have a set of pilot rectangle light from autozone and the are GREAT. They only cost $20 so how could I not try them. They fit in the hole nicely, even though I mounted them to the ground effects themselves I would not suggest that. Try mounting them to the original mounts somehow. I first noticed they bounced going down the highway. Although its better now that my tires are balanced now. The light of these are great, all my headlights do now are light up directly in front of me and look cool.(APC blue bulbs with clear blinkers and fish tank mod)Also modified the fog light switch too.

The JF Manufacturing HID rectangular driving lights available from JC Whitney, catalogue # 07AU4668T are BY FAR the best, brightest (four times that of the best halogen), impressive, low amp draw at 35 watts, longest lasting lights available which fit the SHO openings perfectly. You can see almost a mile on a straight road and the sharp upper beam cut off prevents bothering oncoming drivers. They really look great.
I have an extra set, at discount, if you are interested as they are not cheap at $599.99 plus shipping.

Oh, my email is [email protected], phone is 206-297-9557 if you are interested in the super quality super bright genuine HID driving lights.
Fog lights are passe - how much fog is there anyway and driving lights work just as well or better since the main thing is to mount the lights low to prevent dazzling reflections in fog. That yellow color is of no help and this has been tested. The only reason there is less reflection with yellow is that the yellow filtering cuts down on the light in the first place, so of course there is less reflection.
That yellow theory originated many years back when people noticed that British vehicles had very yellow lights and the assumption started that this was deliberate and that it worked better in the famous English fogs, but the real reason was that the notoriously bad Lucas electrics produced a weak light! Lucas still sucks.
