Accessory belt tensioner ???

I just would like to know, how does this tensioner work??

What do i have to do when i want to loosen / tighten the belt ???

I think its wiser to ask than suffer when somethings goes wrong...

a sheave that rides up and down on a long M5 bolt . loosen bolt in centre of sheave and turn the M5 bolt @ top of housing

sheave moves up and down

That's for the MTX. On the ATX, you're not suppose to, it's self adjusting, but if the belts loose, then you need the tensioner.

Its atx model....

And right now car is just underwork...Trying to catch missed parts,,, just have to wait...

Do i have to loose that tensioner bolt ,loosen tensioner and tighten that bolt,,and after that its self adjusting ???

Its difficult place to loose,,,

the ATX is easy, just put a the serpentine belt tool, (or a set of wrenches) on the bolt, then turn it, clockwise will loosen the belt; but it's springloaded so push hard!! once you get the belt off and release the tensioner it'll go further back then it was since the belt was holding it so make sure you have enough room.

Everything is OK by now ,,,that tensioner thing was very easy...
