1995 SHO 3.2L - The new AC was not working at lunch yesterday (it was hot in Denver too). First time occurrence since AC compressor was replaced. Got in the green machine to leave work and no crank. The instrument panel lit-up and clicks observed, but no crank.

I attempted to crank around 6-10 more times and it finally turned-over like nothing was wrong. I check her a couple other times last night, and it turned-over just time.

I suspect the CCRM. Do you agree? Any suggestions? I appreciate the help and love this forum!

Could be cables working loose. Check battery/grounds/starter/etc. Also, pull codes :)

Will check battery connections and pull codes. I do have a new battery and starter as well as the AC compressor.

typical symptoms of a starter motor that has a bad winding. When it lands on the bad winding, it won't want to crank over, just sits there and either does nothing or draws current like crazy, depending on if the winding is open or shorted. If it happens to turn just a little, it will crank just fine.

On the a/c, check the compressor clutch gap, and check to make sure there is power to the clutch. If not, chase that upstream to see where you are not getting power. I have had the wire between the ccrm and the clutch go bad, and I have also seen where the power from the pcm to the ccrm was not there due to a bad wire. Could be any of those. Could also be a bad low pressure (cycling) switch.

Thanks for the information rubydist! I replaced the CCRM last night; the A/C still did not engage. I think you're right that the two issues (A/C and no crank) are separate issues that just happened to occur at the same time.

Now when I engage the A/C, I hear a short high-pitched squeal and no A/C. I'll check the clutch gap.
