Ok, after just arriving at school my AC has been broadsided with a lot of heat - which it wasn't really used to. When it is 70-80 it is nice and freezing cold. I can drive it and hardly notice the compressor kick on or off and it is very pleasant. Now, it is 105 - and I can get 'cool' air out of the vents, and I can really feel the compressor kicking on and off - it cycles more than I think is necessary. Even running down the freeway it takes itself awhile to get cold. One observation I thought was interesting was that sitting at idle the compressor would stay engaged and get cold, but once I started driving the compressor would then start to cycle more and the air would get warmer....strange observation.

Any thoughts from the AC guru's.

The system was just redone when I did my motor swap last month. Has all new O-rings a brand new Ford compressor, flushed condenser, and new accumulator and orfice tube.

When we charged it the numbers were 190 and 35. It was around 60 degrees when it was charged and out of the vents we were getting 19 degree air.

Thanx, Doug

Mine does that, but it's the electrical connector on the compressor, it has a broken clip part. When you drive, the motor moves and causes for the contact to come and go, turning off and on the compressor. If mine can stay on, it blows freezing cold. Now that you refreshed my memory, I need to go out there and tie the connector down.

You might wanna try a new clutch cycling switch mounted on top of the acumulator. I changed mine and it did wonders. It was only $14. My ac would blow warm then cold, so I changed the switch and she has been ok so far!

I was suspect of that switch. Did you get yours at Ford or aftermarket?

I got it aftermarket...the brand name was Factory Air Products. Auto Zone didn't have it, but I found it at an independent parts store in my area.
