Hey all, I should be picking up a 2014 SHO this weekend! I'm looking to do some mods, I hear that a tune is the most recommended, what tuner should I go with and where from? What other mods would you all recommend? Thanks in advance all!

Oh? Does this car prove to be troublesome?

Not particularly, but when it does, it is expensive. I have a $1k plus bill waiting on me for a "sensor" issue. Load up on the b2b warranty.

Welcome aboard! Mine is the most comfortable, trouble free car I've ever had. You won't regret it. This forum is the mother load of information on these cars. After your basic maintenance, your best "bang for the buck" will be a tune and then downpipes. Read the posts on the different tuners and decide which one is right for you. The major ones talked about on this forum, know their stuff.

Thank you sir! I'm excited for this car, I've been eyeing it for a long time. I am super sad to part ways with my Focus ST (best car I've ever owned), but I am excited for this AWD monster. So tune and down pipes huh? I wouldn't have guessed the latter

The stock downpipes are a real bottleneck in the exhaust system. Obviously, there's plenty of other mods, but those are the initial biggies. Cold air intakes and cat back exhausts certainly have their merits, but do little to nothing for performance. It just depends on your goals

Welcome to the SHO world, after reading a small portion of the threads on this forum the only thing I know for sure is that no one agrees on anything out here. I almost bought an extended warranty myself but the warranty payments where almost as much as my car payment, bottom line if you cant afford to fix it you cant afford the car. All performance roads lead through the "Tune" everything else just enhances what the tune is doing, and everyone has a different opinion on who has the best tune. Its a great car but its not a cheap or simple car, that being said I love mine at least until something breaks and Ford takes away my retirement fund.

That's pretty much cars today. So integrated and complex it takes a mechanic and a EE to figure things out, and then they have to drop the engine.

Welcome to the SHO world. I would agree that a tube is by far the best bang for the buck. And then add downpipes. Livernois and Unleashed are the bigger names in tuning this car. There are a couple others as well.
And if you buy a certified car and/or a Ford extended warranty be conscience of the mods as Ford can and in some cases have voided warranties. If you take it in for service return to stock and be mindful of tuner stickers and such.

I just bought my 2014 off lease and got the 5 year warranty! If your water pump goes bad it's about a $2,000 bill! They have to drop the motor, etc to fix! Get the warranty so you can sleep at night! I installed LMS on my car since it had about 600 miles on it! Never an issue!

I put 70K miles on a 2011, the only reason I bought a new 2016 was the 2011 was a base model SHO, only option was 20" tires. My new 2016 has everything except butt massagers... I went with Livernois Hurricane package, tuner, CAI, 160F T-Stat and 3BAR sensor. HUGE improvement, best $1K I've ever spent on performance upgrades on any car.

I got 100k/7yr b2b warranty on my 2015 SHO for $1800 from the Ford dealer. Well worth it given all the electronics not to mention the drivetrain.

I got mine preowned, and still managed to get a warranty for 5 more years or 60,000 more miles lol. So I'm covered until 100,000 ish. See attached!

Hey sir we will likely be in contact very soon, I am itching very badly for a tune! It came with a K&N CAI so a tune would be great! Price range?
