I recently installed it. I connected the wire that runs to the proper 02 wire right near the intake plenum... towards the oil fill cap. Good, no?

When I am driving, if I let off the throttle COMPLETELY, all indicator bars disappear. Is this normal?

I know these are not really that great of help... but I think I read that if you know what each bar represents for YOUR car, then you can utilize it as being USEFUL. True? Anyone found these to be of use?
At WOT, I get 6 bars (2 red, 2 yellow, 2 green)

Without a wide band O2 connected to the gauge, it will read all over the place. The stock sensors only have, basically, an on and off position.

Dave, without a wideband sensor it's really a shot in the dark. Can you post a picture of your gauge? Every gauge is different and has a different amount of lights so a picture would make your description a little more easy to decipher.

When you're on the throttle it will read rich(6 bars), when you're coasting it will read lean(no bars). At idle or cruising it will bouce all over the place.

can someone... ANYONE tell me WHY I just HAD to have THIS?????
There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to watch the "lights" at WOT, while I am trying to watch boost and RPMs. That and the fact that it does NOT give accurate readings... yet I couldn't help myself :dribble:

Just wondering if anyone's tried a M-Series AutoMeter Narrowband to Wideband Gauge Converter from PLX. If it works it seems to me a fairly cheap alternative to an actual wideband. Page I found it on is at http://www.plxdevices.com/onlinestore_domestic.htm. From the write up I'm taking it'll change the voltage coming off the narrowband o2 to allow the guage to work properly but still allow the ecm to function properly. If it works, looks like the way to go.

The problem as I see it is that the converter is trying to make the sensor something it's not. I would imagine it's averaging the pulses for a signal under part throttle.

I wouldn't trust anything but a true wideband.

a/f guage

sad to say, yes, you cant make a narrow band into a wide band and expect any real accuracy other than hope springing from your breasts.
better to have an exhaust tem p guage. :madflame:
