a/c blend door actuator, schmactuator

How is your a/c? Mine sucked-always hot air only thanks to a bad blend door motor deep in the firewall. If anyone needs dash related disassembly or reassembly help let me know- I'm better friends with my SHO now that I've spent nine hours in her works.

Wow, I have a similar problem, too. Sometimes in cold AC mode the air will suddenly stop coming out the console vents and go out the defrost windshield vents, then a minute later come right back! Seems to happen more when the throttle gets stomped.
I've also had the AC supposedly off, and then reached up and felt hot air coming out the defrost vents. Weird. Suspect some kind of broken vacuum motor, but it looks horrid to get in there.

My AC is doing the same thing. I think that I need a new ACC box. I will try to get the air to come out the dash and it will go to defrost in the summer, and in the winter when I want defrost the heat will come out the dash.

I also notice that mine tends to switch on its own when the fan is blowing harder.

My AC button dosen't work anymore either. I have to push panel and recirc, to get it on......

but that is the least of my probs right now!

MY 94 ATX is blowing hotter air than the 90 degree heat setting... The self test says its a blend door acutator.... Any schematic (sp?) available on this part? The AC is fully charged, and SOMETIMES works, but not very often.. Thanks in advance for the help! Im not trying to invade on your post, but rather looking for the info!

thanks for the offer. i was told from something i read on shotimes that i need to do this. they also suggest pulling power on the door when it is working so that the door stays blended. i like that option rather than ripping apart my dash. does anyone know how to do this?
