Ok, today my O/D light flashed for a good 10 miles but the transmission was shifting/working fine. Temp was ~150 according to my gauge. I got into an open spot, put the car in neutral, shut it down, started it about 5 seconds later, and drove it the rest of the way (15 miles) home with no light.

In other news, I've had my car quit twice now with the "Theft" light flashing and I have to come to a complete stop and put the car in park and turn the key to off.

What the ****? Tune issues maybe, idk???

EDIT: Also just looked at some old threads, I will look at the trans connector below the air intake, and check the PCM connector for any corrosion, etc. I've got a trans filter and fluid sitting in the garage, been waiting for my parents to bring me an extra vehicle as they just got on a plane to Denmark tonight. Didn't want to risk something going wrong with no other means of transportation as I work about 40 miles from home in the summer.

I'll keep ya posted.

Check your PCM and tranny connectors for corrosion. If not that then the TRS might be ready to STB.

For sure check the two tranny electrical connections. Take them apart and use some WD 40 to hose them out, plugging them in and out several times to clean the contacts.

I'll look at the connectors today and maybe put some dielectric grease back onto the connections.

Paul, do you suggest the PCM connector too?

Yes that's where the wires go. I've seen corrosion on the pins. I would personally not use any grease but use WD 40.

My O/D light flashed on me once. It happened after I started my car up to leave school after it sat for like 7 hours. It wouldn't shift into O/D. I just turned the car off on the highway, started it back up and it was fine. That was like 3 weeks ago. My tranny is slipping in first gear when I gas it anything over like 40% throttle. The AX4N is a POS. This is my second tranny.

Well update... there was some red fluid (rust?) in the bottom of the transmission connector. Cleaned it up with Q-tips, then sprayed a little WD-40 and then cleaned out again with Q-tips.

Got pics, going to put my porter intake back in the car after the paint dries. Then going to check PCM connector.

Car runs smooth. Cleaned IAC, disconnected battery for 15 minutes as I checked and rechecked the transmission connectors. Will take it for a spin tomorrow before I jack the car up and remove the wheel/tires, replace fuel and transmission filters.

New Kumho's are in my dining room. :)

Connector full of red goo

I think I did this to myself as I like to keep my engine bay clean and possibly got water or spray foam in it.

Mine also had a flashing light, so I pulled the codes and I ended up having a bad epc solenoid. My car has some strange idle problems with the tuner also, it idles high intermitantly. Have had a few different tunes and they all do this, doesn't with the stock tune though. I'm starting to think it's a coil issue maybe. Did you have any codes Nebraska?

Mine does the same thing you are saying idles high every so often (usually when I get home and are about to turn off the car..) but stock it is fine.

I don't really mind it I guess, but just interesting.

I don't know about the codes. I am exhausted from driving 385 miles in the last two days for work. Will probably take it for a spin tonight, but I'm feeling a nap coming on.

I need to go work on my cedar chest actually so I don't know how much nap time I can afford. Ugh...

The OD light will come on when the fluid hits 300F. You need to regularly change the fluid. But if it's dark brown sounds like your 30k late........
