1997 SHO with 107000 miles. Bought it from an older couple in Parrish. I have put a fair amount of work and TLC into it so far. All new rubber, plugs, wires, (1) coil pack. I am a life long Ford Man. Started with Mustangs and moved into pickups - all rear wheel drive. The SHO is incredible and the torque curve is fab, I just don't like FWD. Black with Grey Leather - I am not a project type guy so it's costing me a lot to fix it up to where I want it. If you are project person this is a great car with the only needs still being a fresh paint job, some minor dings and a new stereo would be nice.

Has any one considered converting a G3 SHO into a rear engine rear wheel drive?

Be happy with 6,000.00 - the original condition was not bad at all - I did a lot of minor fixes myself, latch here, cover there, door panel, speaker grills.

I don't know if I fully agree with you. I was offered 3800.00 for it when it was mechanically questionable. I am a solid 5.0 guy from the "old" days, but people respect the SHO and they are intriqued. I do agree with you however that because we have an 06 Explorer, I can take the time to fix it up and keep for a while. I had an 88 Mustang 5.0 that went to 310,00 before I let it go. The transmission went before the clutch at 125,000. Obviously, as you know, the SHO is considerably more expensive to work on now - HOWEVER at 23mpg its doing better than the explorer for daily commutes. Thanks

Should have taken it. Id even ventue to say that you will not get more than $3k for it in its current state. Heck, even running and driving, clean, low mileage V8 SHOs that need nothing more than a cam-weld can be had for under $6k. You are talking about a mechanically questionable SHo in need of work AND a paintjob?? A proper paint job will run more than the blue book of the car!

Either way, you would be more likely to sell it for more money OUTSIDE of the SHO community. Id throw it on Ebay. Do you feel lucky?

I agree with you Whip. In this day and age you can inbed anything in the head of anyone, that is what has happened to the GIII SHO. Taking it a step at a time I can have a car that lasts a while and still turn heads. The FWD will just take a bit of getting used to. I just found a Ford Mechanic who is willing to do work on the side so that is half the battle.
