I think the vin thing stopped after the last of the lawsuit stuff fell through years ago.

Yes, this list stopped after the lawsuit finish in favor of Ford... But I put all 1996 cam failure (and others) on my 1996 list, they are still availabe however on V8SHO site.

I compiled all the serial numbers of them in a big excel document. I have near 1800 of them by now (on the 5000 made this year). When people are willing to give me his VIN number, I can said if the car have already a repertoried cam failure in the past or if the car was made in a special batch (canadian big waves, bunch of charcoal grey). The more VIN I have, the more infos I can say. I also found the VIN of the major part of the right driver side around 60 of 97.

Making one list for all the 1996 is a lot of work (it's why I'm making 1996 only). I can also say if your car is an early retuned car by Ford but they are rarity (you must compare a lot of VIN with built date to found that). Some SHO had a VIN dating from oct., nov. or dec. 1995 but have a built date of 02/96...

What I put in this list is : VIN, exterior and interior colors and the nearest city where the car was at this time (not the exact adress). If you know if the car had a cam failure is notified too.

This list is also practical to found parts (more for you in U.S. than me and Mr. Newberg). According to this list, only 8% of 1996 SHOs came to Canada... When I found a scrapped one, I put a note on where he was seen (city and state). If you need parts, just ask, I can help probably. I hesitade to put here because many of these VINs are from cars that are still rolling, in fact, I put also all 1996 I saw for sale (with city and state too) and from owners giving it.

This project starts when I rode a discussion between P. Nimz, C. Allenby, K. Doucette and some others about finding Job#1 in 2008. But they had very little infos at this time.

Good day,
