Is it possible to use brake pads for a '95 on a car that has the '96 upgrade? Or would I be better off getting pads for a '96 and up SHO? Thanks guys.

I think I did this once. The 95 pads don't go all the way to the edge of the 96 rotors. If you were to use these in this fashion, you end up with a raised surface at the rotor edge. It's best to just get the 96 pads in combination with the 96 rotors.

yeah if you use the 95 pads they don't reach the top of the rotor. The 96 pads make a huge diffrence especially with the pather pads.

Anyone have any experience with the Bendix carbon metallic pads sold at Advance Auto? I want Performance Friction but they aren't made for gen III. Also I don't really have the funds for the Carbotechs or KVRs. Are there any other higher performance pads around that I should look into? Thanks for the help guys.

Bendix Titanium metallic are the shit! I got mine from Advance too. $32 and personally I think they're much better than the performance friction pads. The Bendix are going to make a little more brake dust, but stop just as good as the Perf. Friction. I can talk ******* about them b/c I have a new set of Performance Friction pads that I want to get rid of. They are not ideal for day to day normal driving. They grind the rotor, ridges form in the rotor, they sqeal, just not my cup of tea. The Bendix are nice pads, my rotors are smooth, no ridges and are VERY quiet. They withstand multiple hard stops with very little fade. I know there are better pads out there, but for $32 it's hard to beat.

I'm running 94 pads with my 96 upgrade right now because I had a set kicking around. Like previously stated, they don't reach the edge of the rotors but I didn't want to waste em. My brakes still work perfectly fine but I'm sure they would be better with the 96 pads. But hey, I'm on a budget...next time around I will get the correct pads. Good luck
