Hi All, My '95 ATX overdrive does not engage when car is started. For some time, I would just press the on/off button on side of shift lever. This scheme no longer works. Is there any way I can engage the O/D and bypass the switch, leaving overdrive permanently engaged. I've owned my SHO for seven years now and have no desire to put a lot of money in the car at this point. All in all it's been a good car still driven daily. Just want to keep her rolling along a little while longer. Thanks!

overdrive is automatically enabled each time you start the engine. if you press the switch, it lights the "OD Off" light on the dash and disables overdrive. every time you start the car, it automatically enables overdrive again. there is no way to change this.

typically, the wire inside the shifter breaks or comes off the little switch, and that causes the switch to be non-functional. you can disassemble the shifter to repair, or you can add a momentary contact switch at a location of your choice and wire that to the correct circuit to have switch functionality again.
