I recently discovered that the steering knuckle on my 91 SHO (drivers side) has been damaged. Upon finding a replacement (couple hundred at the dealer) a friend offered me a set, the knuckles, rotors and calipers off of his 94 SHO. I asked the dealer if they were the same part, and was informed "no". So I turn to yall, what other parts are going to be needed in making this upgrade? Am I going to need to repalce the hubs, and bearings with a different unit? What about the drive axels? are they to a different size? Would it just be better for me to get a knuckle off a gen I and keep it stock. I really have no need for a upgrade, just looking for the best overall swap. Anyone that has done an upgrade please, I could use your help! Thanks alot.

Just do the '96 upgrade. Linky You will enjoy the car so much more. If you have to replace everything you might as well make it better.

The knuckles usually include the hubs and bearings (make sure, though), and the Gen I and II drivelines and knuckles are all compatible.

Do the knuckles he's offering you include the brake brackets and calipers as well? If so, you just need to swap knuckle/brake assemblies, get a front end alignment (really just get the toe set) and you're done.

He can send me everything, meaning the knuckle, rotors, calipers and hub if I ask him. what I am really wanting to know is if I can use the same drive axles. I am sur the ones off the 94 (ATX 3.2l) are going to be different from my 91 (MTX 3.0l). Do I just need to get a different size bearing and hub? Or can I use the hub and bearings from my 91 ( I have purchased new bearings all ready for the 91)?

As I mentioned, the drivelines for Gen I and Gen II all fit in all the knuckles/hubs, so you won't have to change your drivelines.

The drivelines themselves differ from ATX to MTX, but the ends that fit in the hubs/knuckles are the same.

If you can see if you can get the ABS sensors to go with the knuckle. They NEVER come out.

They do for cars that were fortunate enough not to live in the rust belt. :thumb:
