Yeah, a water pump lodged in a spark plug well will do it every time. :)

And everyone thought it was oil in the plug well that was such a problem!
To finally wrap up this story, James replaced the B9B computer and voila, problem solved ... I was needing a front-end 60K and hoped it would take care of both issues at the same time, so this was the route I chose to go with initially. James zeroed in on the ECM after that & its all good now !!

Glad to hear you're back up and running well again! Another job well done by James.... :salute:

this sounds like what my car is doing. my 89 has a really bad problem with this, but all the sensors cam and crank, dis, coil pack, plugs and wires have all been replaced and it still does it. throws the same codes 19, and sometimes a 91 and I can't remember the third one, but it has to do with timing defaulting to 12 degrees. I even tried swapping the computer, and the wiring has been gone through. Any ideas?

Sounds like the symptoms I was having with my last mtx. I replaced the wires and it never happened again.

Edit: Do you have a set you could swap them out with?
