89 Rod bearing pics...

These are from my 89 with 135,000 Miles. Looks like its the first time they were changed. Here are the pics: (56K beware)

89 rod bearing pics?? That's only seven. Where are the other 82 pics?

They look good! Interesting that there is more wear on the front of the engine..I wonder if the harmonic balancer isn't perfectly 'harmonically balanced..'?

Funny, but yeah, I was wondering the same thing when I saw them. Anybody else seen this before?

SHO engines all seem to wear rod bearings no matter what, seems that two rod journals wear more than the rest. from all the pics I have seen, and my own set of worn bearings.
the price we pay for 220hp 3.0.

i noticed that too when i replaced mine, 2 sets out of the six were signifigantly worse than the rest, i dont remember where they came from though

closest to the oil pump or furthest away.
I think its a combination of a few things.
MTX wear sooner than ATX
low rpm clutch drops cause momentary
oil light to light up.
im sure this engine has low pressure
with high volume pump, the large oil
pickup dia allows excellent flow
A whole lot bigger than my old
428 cobra jet came with, tiny
5/16 oil feed :shrug:

seems to be safe to swap bearings every 100k
now im wondering how is the mains doing??????
