I know what you mean....I have hit so many dead ends in the last couple days but someone out there will make these...i will do my best to find someone who will. Like i said before, if i can get ahold of a new unused set 1-5 or a really low wear set then I can make them myself but it will be really low numbers because i will be hand machining them from scratch.

I read the same thing! "Made in Japan" that means im on the right path so far... today i sent out emails to Mazda japan corporation... maybe, maybe, maybe... we will see
Also noticed that looks like a set of synchros... any chance i could get a hold of those to get a 3D model of them? I promise i will take care of them and make sure you get them back!

that's the only ring with a W/O on it, the other 4 are generic bags. those 4 are the fiber lined type.

The dimensions should all be the same regardless of material because of the fitment tolerences.

yes, that is a full set of NOS synchros. I've had them for many years, they were supposedly the last ones at the time. or maybe the guy just said that to justify the price.
I'll wait and see how serious the death threats are before letting them out of my site.

I understand
you could take them to a machine shop with a CMM and have them do a full inspection on them to get the real dimensions. It would likely be around $200 each to get that done, but some of the newer CMMs will generate a solid model or stp file if you want. With that process, pjtoledo would never have to let them out of his possession...
I would recommend a place with a blue LED or laser scanning system. They make a point cloud system to make a full CAD model. CMM is individual points so it takes a long time. I have seen thr blue LED system scan an entire engine block in only a few minutes.

I wonder how it would register the fiber lining, or the surface under the lining?
the syncros appear to be cast, only the inner friction surface was machined before the lining was attached.

Can you post a clear image of all the part numbers on the nags you have? I got an email back from Mazda corp and they are asking for part numbers but idk if the ford numbers will suffice... the W/O number is i think what they need as it would have been a work order number

the other 2 packages are generic "write-on" baggies with only the hand written part number. there are 2 rings in each bag.
E9DZ-7107-A, the rings in that bag have YF14 in ink on them.
E9DZ-7107-B, those have ZD22 in ink on them.
the Ford packaged ring is E7FZ-7107-A. it is not fiber lined, there are no other markings on the ring.
the "F" in the part number has me a bit concerned, but our transaxles are a beefed up version of the Tempo (????) so maybe that part carried over.
the other numbers on that package:

At this point i am trying to get anything we can get. I have someone with Mazda that seams like she wants to help so i am trying to get her to trace back or get in touch with Mazda Japan to at least find a campatability part if not the original components... so far so good but our cars are over 20 years old so just being hopeful at this point. Thanks for the help PJ!

The MTX-IV is a beefed-up version built by Mazda and introduced in 1989 for the Taurus SHO. It was also used in Tempo/Topaz models equipped with the Vulcan V6. Installing this transaxle into a V6 Tempo requires the use of a Tempo-specific flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and CV axles. This transaxle has also been used in the aftermarket to convert a 3.0L Vulcan-powered Taurus to a manual, something which was not offered from the factory.

Subscribed. I used many of my brand new parts to rebuilt the wagon transmission. I have a bunch of spare transmissions, but I'm in need of a few parts for my 89 some day.....
